Mission
As Procurement Manager /Senior Procurement Engineer – CAPEX, you play a key role in developing and managing the Chinese supplier ecosystem for industrial equipment and investment projects.
you support CAPEX sourcing activities for projects executed across The company’s European and Brazilian operations. You combine strong technical understanding of industrial equipment with strategic sourcing capabilities to ensure that project specifications are both technically robust and commercially competitive.
Working closely with the Global Category Manager CAPEX, project managers, and engineering teams, you contribute to the optimization of investment projects through competitive sourcing, supplier innovation, and value engineering.
Responsibilities
As a Procurement Manager /Senior Procurement Engineer, you are responsible for supporting the sourcing and supplier management activities for CAPEX projects within the Asian supplier ecosystem.
Your main responsibilities include:
1. Supplier identification and qualification
1) Identify, assess, and prequalify Chinese suppliers capable of delivering industrial equipment and components aligned with The company’s standards.
2) Develop and maintain a structured supplier network covering key CAPEX equipment categories such as mechanical equipment, electrical systems, automation solutions, and process installations.
3) Conduct supplier capability assessments, including technical expertise, manufacturing capacity, quality systems, and financial robustness.
2. CAPEX sourcing support
1) Support sourcing activities for CAPEX projects executed across The company’s plants in Europe and Brazil.
2) Collect and analyze supplier quotations based on both technical and commercial criteria.
3) Ensure supplier proposals are aligned with project specifications and procurement strategies.
4) Support negotiations with suppliers and assist in contract preparation in collaboration with leadbuyers and category managers.
3. Technical specification challenge and value engineering
1) Review and challenge technical specifications received from project teams.
2) Identify opportunities to eliminate unnecessary customization or over-specifications that may reduce competitiveness.
3) Propose standardized, modular, or locally optimized alternatives to improve project cost efficiency.
4) Ensure that drawings and technical documentation are suitable for competitive bidding.
4. Supplier coordination and project support
1) Act as a key interface between Chinese suppliers and The company project teams located in Europe and Brazil.
2) Support technical clarification phases during tendering and procurement processes.
3) Facilitate communication between engineering teams and suppliers during project execution.
4) Support coordination of logistics documentation and supplier deliverables where required.
5. Compliance and risk management
1) Ensure suppliers comply with The company’s procurement policies and procedures.
2) Verify alignment with EHS, ESG, and quality standards required by The company.
3) Monitor supplier performance and identify potential risks related to quality, delivery, or financial stability.
4) Support the implementation of mitigation actions where necessary.
6. Market intelligence and continuous improvement
1) Monitor developments within the Chinese industrial equipment market.
2) Provide insights on supplier capabilities, innovation opportunities, and cost benchmarks.
3) Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAPEX sourcing practices within The company’s Global Purchasing Platform.
4) Share knowledge and best practices with procurement teams across regions.
Your profile

Your education:
• Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering) or equivalent technical background.
Your experience:
1. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in industrial procurement, engineering sourcing, or CAPEX purchasing.
2. Experience in sourcing industrial equipment, machinery, or process installations is strongly preferred.
3. Experience working with Chinese industrial suppliers is considered a strong advantage.
4. Exposure to international industrial projects is appreciated.
Languages
1. Fluent Mandarin
2. Fluent English required.
3. Additional language such as French, Portuguese, or German is considered a plus.
Mobility
• The position requires travel within China and occasional international travel (up to 30%) to supplier sites and The company plants in Europe or Brazil.
