Job Title; IE Engineer
Reporting to: Engineering Manager China
Location: Foshan
Position Summary:
The IE Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes for inductor nanocrystalline cores. This role focuses on the entire value stream of our key processes for the cut cores line —Impregnation (Vacuum/Pressure Varnishing), Cutting and Polishing . You will be responsible for technical support on these processes, testing different technologies and process parameters, introducing new products and producing samples. You will also be responsible for establishing standard working times, improving production layouts, implementing lean methodologies, and driving cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining the highest European quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Process technical expertise
1) Be responsible for all technical questions on these processes
2) Conduct tests on other machine technologies or optimize the parameters of the current machines (other consumables, other mechanical, thermical parameters…)
3) Samples production : conduct the analysis of the required parameters on these machines for a new reference and supervise the production of these samples
2. Process Optimization & Standardization:
1) ● Analyze and optimize the manufacturing workflow for inductor cores, specifically focusing on precision Cutting (slicing/wire EDM), surface finishing Polishing, and vacuum Impregnation processes.
2) ● Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standardized Work Combination Tables for all production stations.
3) ● Conduct time-motion studies to establish accurate standard cycle times and labor costs for costing and production planning purposes.
3. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:
1) ● Lead and facilitate improvement events to eliminate waste in material flow, motion, and waiting times across the cutting, polishing, and impregnation cells.
2) ● Implement 5S and visual management systems throughout the workshop to ensure a safe and orderly working environment.
3) ● Drive initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by reducing changeover times (SMED) and minimizing process defects.
4. Layout & Facility Planning:
1) ● Design and optimize plant layout using CAD software to improve material handling efficiency and reduce transportation waste.
2) ● Plan and implement new equipment introduction (NPI) regarding floor space, utility connections, and ergonomic assessments.
5. Capacity & Data Analysis:
1) ● Calculate production capacity (machine and labor) based on current and forecasted product mix.
2) ● Utilize data analysis to identify bottlenecks in the production line and propose actionable solutions.
3) ● Support the operations team in PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and Control Plan development.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
1) ● Work closely with the Quality Department to address root causes of dimensional and cosmetic defects related to cutting and polishing.
2) ● Collaborate with the Maintenance team to develop TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) schedules to ensure machine stability.
3) ● Provide technical support and training to production supervisors and operators on new processes and standards.

Key Requirements:
1. ● Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. ● Minimum 5–8 years of experience as an IE or Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
3. ● Essential: Proven experience in the special steel / cut cores / magnetic materials (soft ferrite/silicon steel) industry and in metal cutting, mechanical polishing/grinding, and vacuum impregnation or varnishing processes.
4. ● Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) for layout design.
5. Soft Skills & Language:
6. ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude.
7. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between management and shop-floor operators.
8. ● Language: Working proficiency in English (reading and writing) is required to communicate with European headquarters and read technical documents. Conversational English is a plus.
