(Senior) Project Manager(Job code:6183)

A Specialized Company from a Western country with High-end Consumer products

Job Title: (Senior) Project Manager
Industry: High-end Consumer Goods
Company Type: American-owned
Reporting Line: Report directly to COO ( non-Chinese speaking / Western expatriate)
Location: Pearl River Delta, China

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly polished and culturally agile Project Manager to lead high-stakes product development initiatives for a prestigious American brand in the high-end consumer goods sector. This role requires more than operational rigor—it demands exceptional interpersonal intelligence, cross-cultural fluency, and the resilience to manage demanding client expectations with grace and authority. Reporting to a foreign COO, you will act as the critical bridge between Western strategic direction and regional execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Own project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across cross-functional teams (design, engineering, supply chain, quality) to ensure flawless product launches.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary interface for high-pressure client interactions, professionally navigating (critical/demanding) feedback, shifting requirements, and tight deadlines while preserving trust and partnership.

  • Cross-Cultural Communication: Facilitate seamless collaboration between the foreign COO, global HQ, and local teams—interpreting not just language but cultural context, decision-making styles, and implicit expectations.

  • Conflict Resolution & Relationship Building: Proactively manage internal and external friction, turning potential tensions into constructive outcomes. Build and sustain strong working relationships with vendors, clients, and team members.

  • Pressure Management: Anticipate client pain points and internal bottlenecks, de-escalate urgent situations with composure, and deliver transparent, solution-oriented updates under pressure.

Qualifications & Competencies

Must-Have:

  • Fluency in English (native or near-native proficiency) – able to lead complex business negotiations, write polished reports, and intuitively grasp Western communication styles (direct yet diplomatic, context-light).

  • Deep familiarity with Western corporate culture – understands the COO’s unspoken norms, decision-making logic, and expectations regarding punctuality, proactiveness, and accountability.

  • Proven ability to handle demanding client relationships – experience managing high-expectation, perfectionist, or emotionally intense stakeholders without damaging long-term rapport.

  • Strong EQ and political savviness – you know how to navigate hierarchy, save face, align divergent interests, and gain buy-in from both local teams and foreign leadership.

  • At least 5 years of project management experience in premium/luxury consumer goods, automotive, electronics, or similar high-quality, design-driven industries.

  • Willing to work in the Pearl River Delta (e.g., Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou) with occasional travel to factories or client sites.

Nice-to-Have:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification.

  • Mandarin proficiency (helpful but not required for technical work; cultural awareness matters more than fluency).

  • Experience working directly for an American expatriate manager.

What We Offer

  • A visible, high-impact role with direct exposure to C-level decision making.

  • Competitive salary + expatriate-style benefits (healthcare, housing allowance negotiable).

  • A fast-paced, quality-obsessed culture where your soft skills are as valued as your execution ability.

  • Opportunity to work on globally admired luxury products.
