Position Summary:
The Product Quality Engineer (PQE) will be a key player in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will be responsible for overseeing product quality throughout the production lifecycle, with a specific focus on sheet metal components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage product quality issues, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
2. Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection methodologies, and quality standards for new and existing products.
3. Conduct thorough audits and process controls of the sheet metal production line, including stamping, bending, welding, and surface treatment processes.
4. Collaborate closely with suppliers to address quality issues related to sheet metal parts, molds, and fixtures; drive for continuous improvement.
5. Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) processes.
6. Work cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to ensure quality standards are integrated from design to delivery.
7. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and initiate projects to improve product quality and process efficiency.
8. Support customer quality concerns and lead investigations to ensure timely and effective resolution.
9. Participate in the development and validation of new molds and production processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
1 Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
2 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the electromechanical industry.
3 Technical Skills:
3.1 Essential: In-depth knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and mold/die (stamping, punching, laser cutting, CNC bending).
3.2 Strong understanding of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC).
3.3 Proficient in using measurement tools and interpreting technical drawings (GD&T).
4 Language Skills: Good command of written and spoken English is required for effective communication with our European headquarters and global teams.
