Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic China Sales General Manager to lead our sales operations in China. Reporting directly to the Asia-Pacific Regional Sales VP, this role will oversee a team of over 30 sales professionals, tasked with driving market development and customer retention across the region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the mechanical and electrical equipment industry, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills, including fluency in English.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of over 30 sales professionals, ensuring high levels of motivation, performance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  2. Market Development: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share, identify new opportunities, and penetrate key industries and sectors within China.
  3. Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, while actively seeking out new business partnerships and clients to grow the customer base.
  4. Sales Performance: Set and achieve sales targets, monitor performance metrics, and provide regular reports to senior management on sales activities, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  5. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest developments in mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring the sales team is equally well-informed to effectively promote and sell the company’s products.
  6. Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs, informing sales strategies and product positioning.
  7. Negotiation Skills: Excel in negotiation and contract management, ensuring favorable terms for the company while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications:

  1. Industry Experience: Proven sales leadership experience within the mechanical and electrical equipment industry, preferably in China.
  2. Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  3. Language Skills: Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
  4. Leadership & Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large sales team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  5. Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning and analytical skills to navigate complex market dynamics and drive informed decision-making.
  6. Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and sensitivity to cultural nuances in China, with the ability to adapt and communicate effectively across diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. Experience working in multinational corporations or within the Chinese market.
  3. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving significant market expansion.
