China Application Engineer-Polymer System for Automotive

The company is a global and specialized manufacturer of connecting solutions with a history of more than 80 years, now running the business in Europe, American and Asia with around 2,000 professional team members around the world with more than 10 production sites including 5 Design Centers , their products are applied into crossed industries such as Automotive, General Industries and Life science and Others

They have been in China for more than 30 years with the head office in Shanghai and manufacturing center in North China with around 500 team members now. Currently they are looking for a high caliber to join in the technical team, the details are as following

Job Title: China Application Engineer-Polymer System for Automotive

Report to: Application Head-plastics based in Europe

Location: Shanghai Pudong

JOB DESCRIPTION
The incumbent will be responsible for managing and driving engineering activities to customize existing products and integrate them into systems of major Chinese E-mobility OEMs. This is an end-to-end responsibility from customer pain point identification to production in close collaboration with our global KAM teams and the incumbent will be reporting to the Head Customer System Engineering residing in Europe.
Responsibilities
1. Support sales as technical expert in interactions with customers (virtually and on site) and identify customer needs and pain points
2. Develop innovative polymer fluid system concepts, including 3D models, detailed drawings, mockups, pretotypes etc.
3. Provide system design support to advanced engineers of customers by doing CAD integration of our solutions into their systems
4. Coordinate samples/prototypes and manage all internal and external testing and validation activities for new polymer solutions
5. Plan and execute further research and development activities in close cooperation with the Polymer Center of Competence in Gothenburg, Sweden
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in engineering
2. 5+ years working experience as a project engineer in an automotive environment
3. Professional experience in the development and design of plastic parts
4. Excellent knowledge of CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
5. Experience in quality systems such as APQP and IATF 16949
6. Strong project management and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to develop strong client relationships and to explain complex technical issues/solutions in a simple and compelling way
8. Self-motivated and a self-starter with hands-on skills and a team-oriented attitude
9. Willingness to travel（25-30%）
