Position: Asia Product Development Engineer
Report to: Asia Mechanical Design Manager (Foreigner)

As a member of the R&D team, the candidate will design and develop products and electrified heating units. This role supports innovation in energy-efficient HVAC systems and requires strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to contribute effectively within a dynamic, fast-growing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1.System Architecture: Design and develop system layouts for chillers and electrified heating units, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
2.Component Selection: Choose critical components such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers,…
3.Thermodynamic & Heat Transfer Analysis: Perform in-depth calculations to optimize system efficiency and performance under various conditions.
4.System Integration: Ensure smooth integration of mechanical components, electrical systems, and control systems.
5.Piping & Fluid Flow Design: Design efficient piping systems for refrigerant and cooling or heating fluids, minimizing losses.
6.Prototype Development: Lead the development and assembly of prototypes, ensuring testing and validation meet design criteria.
7.Performance Testing: Conduct tests for energy efficiency , capacity, noise, and heating performance.
8.Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify performance issues during testing and resolve them to improve system efficiency.
9.Energy Efficiency Focus: Drive energy-efficient design solutions that meet sustainability goals for electrified heating and cooling units.
10.Electrification Integration: Innovate new electrification technologies to ensure effective and sustainable heating solutions.
11.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, control teams, and project managers to ensure integrated system design.
12.Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to source components that meet performance and cost requirements.
13.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, UL,…) and environmental regulations.
14.Project Planning & Documentation: Assist in project timelines, resource planning, and maintain detailed design and testing documentation.
15.Customer Requirements: Ensure designs align with customer needs and market demands, incorporating feedback into product improvements.
16.Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
17.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
18.A minimum of 4 years experience in chiller manufacturing or HVAC manufacturing experience.
19.Proven experience in system design, particularly in refrigeration or HVAC technologies.
20.Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
21.Experience in the design and development of mechanical systems, including chillers or heating units.
22.Familiarity with electrification technologies and energy-efficient systems.
23.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
24.Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
25.The ability to multi-task and be organized is crucial for this role
26.Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint) is required
27.Familiarity with ASHRAE/ANSI/ASME codes and design requirements is an asset
28.Familiarity with HVAC controls systems is advantageous
29.Familiarity with electrical systems is advantageous
