Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Engineering Director will be responsible for overseeing a team of 15 engineers, including 10 located in Guangzhou and 5 overseas. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in the HVAC industry, fluent English communication skills, and at least 10 years of relevant experience. The Engineering Director will report directly to the Engineering VP based in North America and will play a crucial role in driving the company’s engineering initiatives and innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Team Leadership:

   1.1 Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 15 engineers, ensuring they are aligned with company goals and objectives.

   1.2 Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.

   1.3 Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to drive individual and team growth.

2 Project Management:

   2.1 Oversee HVAC projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

   2.2 Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets.

   2.3 Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

3 Technical Expertise:

   3.1 Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team on HVAC design, installation, and maintenance.

   3.2 Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into project planning and execution.

   3.3 Collaborate with R&D teams to drive product innovation and improvement.

4 Strategic Planning:

   4.1 Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process, providing insights on engineering-related matters.

   4.2 Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in the engineering department and develop plans to achieve them.

   4.3 Work closely with the Engineering VP to align the department’s goals and strategies with the company’s overall vision.

5 Communication and Reporting:

   5.1 Communicate effectively with the Engineering VP and other senior leaders, providing regular updates on team performance, project status, and strategic initiatives.

   5.2 Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on engineering activities, achievements, and challenges.

   5.3 Ensure clear and timely communication with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

Requirements:

1 Education:

   1.1 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

   1.2 Master’s degree is preferred.

2 Experience:

   2.1 At least 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry.

   2.2 Proven leadership experience managing a team of engineers.

   2.3 Experience with project management, HVAC design, and technical support.

3 Skills:

   3.1 Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

   3.2 Strong technical skills and knowledge of HVAC systems and technologies.

   3.3 Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

   3.4 Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.

   3.5 Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.

4 Preferences:

   4.1 Experience working in an international environment.

   4.2 Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in North America and Asia.
