General Info about this role
To accelerate our deployment, we are building a dedicated “China Robotics Hub” from the ground up. You will be its founding leader. This position goes beyond standard local souring; you will serve as our primary technical authority in the region. This position offers unprecedented global exposure, including frequent travel to our plants in Europe and Brazil, gives you high-level visibility and the autonomy to shape our Asian innovation strategy. You will operate at the forefront of Industry 4.0, bridging China’s rapid hardware development with advanced European R&D. Job Duties:
- our daily responsibilities will include: Supplier Governance
- Manage the day-to-day commercial and strategic relationships with 4-5 key automation partners in China.
- Mitigate supply chain risks, negotiate delivery milestones, and ensure technical documentation is accurately translated and delivered before payment releases Quality Assurance & Technical Translation
- Understand the operational requirements defined in Europe, utilising your technical expertise to translate complex EU operational problems into clear, actionable technical specifications for Chinese suppliers.
- Oversee and execute the final Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). You hold the ultimate authority for FAT sign-off and are responsible for approving or halting delivery to EU sites based on strict adherence to European compliance
- Collaborate closely with the Global Safety and Compliance Officer to ensure all imported equipment meets the strict legal and safety frameworks of the destination countries.
- Interact constantly with the Global Program Architect to guarantee the seamless interoperability of Chinese hardware with existing European and Brazilian IT/OT infrastructure. Deployment & Implementation
- Coordinate the logistical and technical transition of approved robotics and automation systems from Chinese suppliers to our globe manufacturing sites.
- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and assist local plant teams during the final commissioning phase to ensure smooth integration into active production lines while minimizing downtime. Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a lean time of local commissioning and quality assurance engineers who will act as your primary operational representatives at supplier facilities, overseeing day-to-day manufacturing progress and code reviews.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Native Mandarin with fluent, business-level English required to facilitate high-level technical and commercial discussions with European executives.
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of heavy industrial automation; prior experience in the steel, metallurgy, or heavy manufacturing industry is a strong plus
- Proven track records with previous projects and implementations which demonstrate the proficiency in evaluating PLC programming, robotic kinetics, industrial communication protocols (e.g. OPC UA, ROS 2) and system integration.
- Compliance Knowledge
- Deep familiarity with European CE marking (Machinery Directive), ISO 10218, ISO 12100 and global safety standards.
- A proven track record in cross-boarder technology transfer, specifically bring Asian-manufactured industrial equipment into European or Western compliance frameworks. Experience managing complex supplier quality audits is highly desirable. Soft Skills & Work Approach
